Increasing the market competitiveness of DARCO by implementing the recommendations of the design strategy
The subsidy for Darco from EU funds covered 4 different areas of action, and these were necessitated by the company’s existing design strategy. The actions concerned the fields of product, marketing, process and technological innovation – tightly interconnected and coherent, these determined the company’s further development.
The enterprise resulted in the design of a new product line of gravitational and hybrid ventilation elements – two different lines of ventilation products in terms of design. A new ventilation system was also designed – mechanical with recuperation.
The actions were supplemented with marketing innovations focussed on developing a communication strategy for the DARCO brand (along with the DARCO sub-brand). A graphic project was created for a visual brand ID, as well as a plan of online and offline promotions. After this, a graphic project was begun for basic stationary designs, and for promotional and sales materials, as well as draft designs for packaging and product instructions. A project was also initiated for the architecture and functionalities of the website as well as its graphic design side.
As part of the process innovations, the development process for the new product was planned, i.e. DNA DARCO Design was created in the form of a Design Book, and the development process of the new product was put together during co-creation workshops in line with the design thinking method.
Fixed assets were purchased as part of the actions connected with technological innovation.
What is more, completion of the project also brought about changes within Darco’s organisational structure.
