The aim of the project was to socially revitalize marginalized areas of the City of Żyrardów through the renovation of common parts of multi-family residential buildings, constituting an integral part of a broader revitalization initiative aimed at counteracting crisis situations of people affected by negative social phenomena.

The first stage was the development of design and cost estimate documentation and obtaining a building permit for the buildings covered by the project. Then, renovation and thermal modernization works were carried out, aimed at improving the housing conditions of tenants in the buildings at 18 and 25 Limanowskiego Street, 42 Narutowicza Street, 12 Wyszyńskiego Street, 10 Armii Krajowej Street, 1 Maja 31 and 52 Street, and 13 and 17 Chopina Street. The project was of a revitalization nature, therefore, in addition to activities related to the renewal of the housing fabric, initiatives were also undertaken to activate residents at risk of social exclusion due to poverty, unemployment or debt.

For this purpose, the project was linked to projects implemented by the District Labor Office in Żyrardów and the provisions of the Revitalization Program regarding professional and social activation of residents of revitalization areas.

The target group of revitalization activities are residents of crisis areas.

Project goals:

• Social revitalization of marginalized areas through the renovation of common parts of multi-family residential buildings, as part of a broader revitalization initiative.
• Improving the technical condition of 9 buildings through construction and thermal modernization works.
• Improving the quality of life of residents, combating poverty and financial debt problems, and increasing the level of education in the project area.
