Implementation of technology for the production of improved harmonic filters integrated with oil-immersed transformers
ELHAND Transformatory’s main business is the manufacture of transformers, chokes and higher harmonic filters. The project’s objective was to market new products – energy-efficient harmonic filters integrated with oil-immersed transformers and built with core and coreless chokes, for use with multi-pulse converters. The implemented technology allowed ELHAND to develop a product intended mainly for the global market, especially oil and gas extraction as well as construction of seagoing vessels, and for the market of high-powered electric drives, including the internal market of the Republic of Poland. The fulfilment of this goal has increased the company’s innovativeness, boosted its competitive advantage on the global market and raised the company’s level of internationalisation. The project is a response to the ongoing development of the industry sector of electric drives controlled by frequency converters. Modern machinery and equipment was purchased, including:
- electric furnace for curing the impregnating resin,
- two coil winding machines with an expanding template,
- slitting machine and cross-cutting guillotine for insulation,
- power analyser,
- 3-phase inductance meter,
- thermal imaging and acoustic camera,
- assembly tables,
- high lift truck with a lift capacity of 3.2 tonnes,
- loading platform with a capacity of 20 tonnes.
Andrzej Herbowski: the project led to company’s significant growth and more economical use of raw materials for production. Moreover, 12 new jobs were created. We have become more competitive in the filter and transformer manufacturing market, and expect further turnover growth.
