Accessibility Plus for Health
The goal of the “Accessibility Plus for Health” project is to adapt hospitals and primary care centers to the requirements of people with special needs, among them people with disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women and even children. Participation in the project gives participating centers a chance to develop, modernize and, above all, create a friendly space for patients, especially those with special needs. Adaptation, i.e. the introduction of amenities, covers three main areas: architectural, digital and information and communication.
Joining the “Accessibility Plus for Health” project means that the facility can obtain funding for, among other things, the construction of elevators and ramps, proper signage and lighting of rooms, retrofitting registration desks and doctors’ offices with additional equipment. The support provided by the project can also be used to prepare parking spaces for people with special needs.
Joining the project also enables the facilities’ staff to participate in training courses that the Ministry of Health is organizing on communication with people with special needs.
