Improving the safety of residents and tourists in the Tatras through the implementation of a weather monitoring system and the purchase of rescue equipment for the Tatra Volunteer Rescue Service
The Tatra Mountains are the only alpine area in Poland. Thanks to this, their character is so unique and they are so popular among visitors. At the same time, it means that the most difficult conditions for mountain tourism in Poland prevail here, and a very large number of tourists visiting the Tatra Mountains, unfortunately, reduces the level of security. The most popular hiking trails in the high season are crowded, queues are formed on them, many people go to the high mountains without the right outfit and equipment.
The purchase of a special ATV off-road vehicle and two snowmobiles, a system for obtaining meteorological data and forecasting of weather contributed to an increase in the level of safety in the Polish Tatras. The project assumed the creation of an effective warning system against atmospheric phenomena, using modern technologies, enabling quick warning, including direct warning of people going on routes, using screens. Purchasing the above rescue equipment and weather monitoring system fully responds to the needs identified and will enable the project to achieve its goals.
