Construction of a transfer car park in the “Park and Ride” formula at the E30 railway line in Krzeszowice
In Krzeszowice, at Kolejowa Street, a modern parking lot was built in the “Park and Ride” formula, which includes 137 regular parking spaces, 6 ones for people with disabilities and 4 spaces with electric vehicle chargers. The project co-financed by the EU is located near the railway station and the inter-city and urban bus stations, which makes the parking lot a convenient transit node. Residents commuting to work, schools and other destinations from outside the municipality can leave their cars and motorcycles here to change to a selected means of public transport: a train (the international railway line E 30, line 133 Dąbrowa Górnicza Ząbkowice – Krakow Center run through Krzeszowice, among others) or bus (there is a terminus of Krakow’s city bus line 278 near the station, providing a link between Krzeszowice and Bronowice Małe). The car park operates in the Małopolska Agglomeration Card system and is free of charge for users with active tickets. People dropping off or picking up travelers can use 5 temporary parking spaces designed according to the “Kiss and Ride” formula, 9 ordinary parking spaces and a bay for buses. In the public area there are also 3 taxi spaces and 44 bicycle stands with a theft protection system, located under a roofed shelter. The new car park will make it easier for residents to use environmentally friendly public transport, thus limiting the movement of passenger cars and eliminating the problem of traffic jams.
