Reserving the biodiversity of the Wetlinska Polonina by protecting endangered species from the negative impact of tourism
The main objective of the project is to protect biodiversity from the negative impact of tourism by channeling tourist traffic through the adaptation of the facility of the Bieszczady National Park in Połonina Wetlinska and the creation of a post for the Park Guard, which will serve to ensure the sustainability and possibility of the development of protected species under the conditions of in situ protection in the Bieszczady National Park.
The scope of the project includes the expansion, superstructure, and reconstruction of the facility of the Bieszczady National Park in Połonina Wetlinska to channelize tourist traffic and protect protected species from the negative impact of tourism by preventing tourists from penetrating the surroundings of hiking trails, trampling protected plant sites and eutrophication of habitats by taking care of physiological needs in places not intended for this purpose, and by locating in the facility a place for the National Park Guard to enforce compliance with the rule of walking on designated trails.
The second specific objective is to completely remove Sakhalin knotweed (Reynoutria sachalinensis) as an invasive species.
The third specific objective to equip the rest area with tables and benches for tourists. The equipment is planned to be located on the terrace, in the main hall, and in the attic room intended for tourists.
The fourth specific objective is to make two educational boards with information on environmental protection, biodiversity protection, and the role of the Bieszczady National Park. The building will be adapted to the needs of the disabled.
