Project is designed to answer challenges defined in Joint Operational Programme related to cross-border tourism. Activities of this initiative support development of this industry and of cooperation between representatives of Polish and Russian stakeholders. Major part of plans, related to investments, aims at objective of creating and modernizing tourism product connected strongly to preservation and promotion of regional natural and historical heritage. Building the bicycle path in Szczytno District is placed in area of natural environment importance and modernizing park “Larch” helps to preserve traditional values of the place. Those actions are complemented by facilitating cooperation between tourism communities of Szczytno District and Svetlogorsk Raion, which is to be transformed in long term and practical collaboration, leading to development of next joint undertakings. Results of this initiative will be promoted by joint sport and cultural events, fulfilling important people-to-people connection factor. Trough this project both Beneficiaries intend to develop their already existing partnership. New and modernized tourism products will strengthen potential of cross-border region in that regard. All activities that could be implemented jointly will be performed in close cooperation between partners, namely management, promotion & communication and establishing crossborder tourism cooperation network. Project is dedicated directly to following target groups: local tourism operators, entrepreneurs, tourists, authorities, local residents using facilities and artists. Improvement of economical and social situation will impact favourably wellbeing and prosperity of final beneficiaries: residents of Szczytno District and Svetlogorsk Raion.
