The activity of Health Assistance Technology is focused on the development of solutions intended to support the monitoring of the basic human physiological parameters, with special emphasis on determining glucose levels in blood in a non-invasive way. The aim of the project was to create an anthropotechnical system for non-invasive monitoring of changes of glucose levels in blood, using wearable technology: Gluco-Trend-System. For this purpose, research was conducted on a system for non-invasive monitoring of glucose level changes in blood, comprising the development of hardware architecture and processing of anthropometric data of the system for determining glucose levels in blood, as well as tests of sensors based on non-invasive optical and bioimpedance methods. Furthermore, an acquisition and inference system using the learning methods was developed. Several prototypes of measuring devices have been created, which enables further work on the development of the system to prepare it for final implementation.

Health Assistance Technology: “Our goal is to support people with diabetes in their everyday life and to encourage them to exercise and lead a healthy lifestyle. We expect to achieve better monitoring of glucose levels in blood in order to avoid dangerous situations connected with low or high glucose concentration in the body. Our system for determining glucose level fluctuation is aimed at identification of selected health events, their visualisation via a mobile app, as well as alarming in a threatening situation. The application of non-invasive measurement methods enables more convenient monitoring of glucose levels in blood in people with diagnosed diabetes, thus improving their quality of life.”
