Roto-Tech Sp. z o.o. is a Polish company involved in processing plastics. The company has a modern production facility equipped with a technologically advanced machine park, and the key technology of the business is rotational moulding, which enables serial production of items of a considerable size. The Roto-Tech is experienced in designing and producing water-borne vessels and products intended for water transport.
The aim of this project was to launch a new product in the form of a houseboat onto the market.
The undertaking was divided into three stages of work.
The first stage covered an initial audit, during which the company’s needs and potential in the field of design were defined. Then a strategy for further action was agreed, detailed goals were specified and tasks set.
The second stage concerned the project work itself, in collaboration with the designers. Analyses and research were carried out, and an initial product concept was developed. A detailed design project was prepared on the basis of the development work carried out, taking into consideration quick serial assembly of the homes in several possible arrangements. An executive design was also created.
The third stage focussed on implementation, i.e. constructing a prototype in the form of a showroom version of the houseboat. During this stage the company received consultancy support with regard to tests of the new product. Guidelines were established for acceptance tests to be carried out at the end.
The effect of this project was that a houseboat, intended for touring, was designed using proprietary design and project solutions, and launched on the market.
The product constitutes a highly specialised floating vessel, designed and created in Poland.
