2014 - 2020

The result of the project is a significantly improved range of products in the form of printed plastic film packaging for bakery and confectionery products, made using a new antiseptic component. Its composition and method of manufacture was developed and validated as a result of outsourced and own R&D works. Innovative plastic film packaging with antibacterial coating manifestly inhibits the development of microorganisms in direct contact with the film. Other features that distinguish it from competing products include:

  • higher resistance of the printed polymer layer to UV radiation,
  • higher abrasion resistance,
  • higher adhesion of the printed layer,
  • increased saturation of the print.

As part of the project, a printing machine, a labelling machine, a welding machine and a flexographic printer were purchased.

Quote:

In the age of growing consumer demands, strategies of manufacturers are also changing. Changes compel them to keep improving their products. The packaging industry is no exception. Food packaging is constantly evolving, adapting to the fluctuating needs and new lifestyles of consumers. The packaging is to be convenient and conducive to the consumption of food enclosed in it. On the one hand, packaging is becoming more and more environmentally friendly (optimized manufacturing process, reusability of the material), on the other, it is more useful. In the times of fashion for organic food, free of preservatives and processed as little as possible, there is a demand for packaging made of renewable, lightweight, simplified and yet highly functional raw materials. Reusability of the recovered raw material will become increasingly important, as well as the possibility of reducing the volume of used packaging. However, the basic functions of packaging remain unchanged – ensuring the best protection of perishable products and reducing waste.
