Pathomorphology plays a key role in the diagnosis and treatment of many diseases. It is an extremely important interdisciplinary field of medicine that participates in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of many specialties, from oncology through all the surgical branches of medicine to dermatology and research work. The quality of the pathomorphological diagnostics performed is crucial in deciding the initiation and success of treatment.
The project is a pilot for the introduction of accreditation for pathomorphology facilities that provide publicly funded services. The goal of the project is to improve the quality of pathomorphology examinations, to be achieved by:
– developing and implementing accreditation standards for pathomorphology;
-Improving the qualifications of the management staff in the covered healthcare entities necessary for effective quality and patient safety management in the field of pathomorphology, including meeting accreditation standards; – Developing a program of accreditation visits in the field of pathomorphology and training visionaries to assess compliance with accreditation standards;- Conducting accreditation visits to selected facilities; – Introduce mandatory accreditation for pathomorphology facilities
– conducting examinations financed by the National Health Fund.
