perspective
2014 - 2020

The project “Q Self-sufficiency” was implemented by the Social Welfare Center of the Praga-Południe District of the Capital City of Warsaw in partnership with the Society of Aid named after St. Brother Albert Warsaw Branch and Caritas of the Warsaw-Praga Diocese from October 1, 2019, to September 30, 2022.

The project was aimed at individuals experiencing homelessness crisis, whose last place of residence/registration was the Praga-Południe District. Specifically, the project provided support to individuals who lost housing through no fault of their own and were residing in shelters, night shelters, crisis intervention centers, basements, etc., as well as those experiencing repeated social exclusion, such as unemployed individuals and persons with significant or moderate disabilities.

To achieve the project’s goal of increasing socio-economic activity for 60 individuals (30F and 30M) marginalized or at risk of social exclusion and reducing the phenomenon of social exclusion and poverty, participants received comprehensive support based on individual diagnosis and the development of a support plan. This support encompassed 66 individuals, including 23 individuals with disabilities. Sixty individuals benefited from group support (integrative workshops with elements of self-presentation, workshops on boosting self-esteem, DDA activities) or individual vocational assistance. Forty-two individuals participated in training on digital skills (ECDL computer course), and 20 individuals acquired qualifications and/or skills through vocational courses. Additionally, 30 individuals received recommendations for obtaining residential accommodation from the resources of the Praga-Południe District, and 14 individuals gained employment during the project’s duration. Over the course of the 3-year project, over three thousand hours of activities/workshops and individual consultations were conducted.
