Construction of the Environmental Education Center – Exotarium

The new facility of the Environmental Education Center – Exotarium is intended to preserve the historical heritage and collections presented so far in this place, while expanding the scope of its activities with an educational function for native plant species and animals. Thanks to the investment in CEE, we will be able to admire the collection of native fish and the surrounding of the building will be native plant habitats: hornbeam biotope, rushes community and xerothermic turf.

The building will contain two modern classrooms, equipped with computers, microscopes, multimedia systems, etc., where students of nearby schools will be able to take nature, biology and geography lessons. The rooms themselves have been designed in such a way that at any time by removing the wall they will turn into a hall for 50 people, where you can conduct workshops, lectures, exhibitions, all with a beautiful view of tropical plants and animals in the palm house.

The building will also have a mini cinema in which every visitor will be able to watch an educational film on native nature for free. Corridors and CEE halls will provide exhibition space for permanent and temporary exhibitions. People tired after a long sightseeing will be able to sit down for tea in the cafe.

 Land development at Baczyńskiego Street

The project aims to create a forest-friendly park that is safe for the public. The whole area will be cleared of traces of old remains, rubbish, invasive plants and parts of fallen sick trees. In order to increase safety, breaches, funnels, sinkholes, etc. occurring in the area will be covered. It is planned to create about 830 meters of new alleys along the tracks of trampled paths. Construction of stairs and ramps for the disabled leading to the tram stop, at the height of the pedestrian crossing at Biedronka. Bumps and breaks in existing traffic routes will be leveled. Lighting will be installed on some of the main venues over 2 km in length.

Along the alleys, small architecture elements (benches, litter bins, signage, bicycle parking) will be installed. In green areas, birdhouses for birds, bats or insects leading a solitary lifestyle; pasture and lick.
