perspective
2014 - 2020

The subject of the project was the physical, economic, social, and cultural revitalization of Chodzież downtown. As part of the revitalization, Jazz Starts Avenue was created, located at Strzelecka. Glass sculptures depicting jazz music instruments were mounted on pedestals along the pavement on the street. A new road surface, pavements and drainage of rainwater were made, and new, energy-saving street lighting was installed.

In the revitalized area, a park at Dworcowa was commissioned for use. It is adjacent to the Municipal Public Library, named the “Rest with Culture” Park due to the project. The existing Lamus Tkacki (an old weaving facility) was moved to the park, being the last facility of this type in Chodzież and a historical monument. In the park, pedestrian routes have been redesigned and built, energy-saving lighting has been installed, a new fountain has been installed along with a glass building, the so-called Bookschron, which is to play the role of an open-air library soon. The park is equipped with elements of small architecture – seats, benches, deckchairs, litter bins, chess tables. New plantings of trees and low greenery were planted.

However, in the vicinity, nearby Żeromskiego street, a building intended for the operation of a social economy entity was renovated. After the move, the “Bioderko” Association of People after Endoprosthesoplasty resumed its activity here. In this way, the Center for Active Integration and Rehabilitation was established, associating, and activating people with disabilities – a place fully technically adapted to the movement of people of this social group. The visual status of the area nearby Żeromskiego Street has also been improved. It was enriched with new technical infrastructure – new pavement and road surfaces within the Żeromskiego estate, new lighting, new parking spaces for residents, elements of small architecture, i.e. benches, flower pots, swings, a small playground, a ping-pong table and new litter bins and semi-underground containers for selective waste collection.
