Recently, the number of Ukrainians in Poland is constantly increasing and more and more often you can hear the Ukrainian language in the streets of the cities, especially in Suwalki. The same situation is in Ukraine. Every year more and more young people – students come to study in Ternopil. Ukrainians in Suwalki, as well as Poles in Ternopil use the offers of banks, services of telecommunication operators, do shopping, etc. Despite the fact that the slavic languages are similar, communication is at the same time complicated. Taking into account these problems, we want to bring to the inhabitants and tourists of Suwałki the cultural and historical heritage of Ukraine, and to the inhabitants and tourists of Ternopil the cultural and historical heritage of Poland. Libraries are a place where you can safely spend time – get information, read a book, meet. Librarians are a professional group that can reach a large group of recipients. Therefore, an important target group of the project. The main goal of the project is the cultural rapprochement of the two neighbouring countries, especially of two cities of Suwalki and Ternopil. In order to achieve this goal the Days of the culture of Suwalki/Poland will be held in the libraries of Ternopil City, and the Days of the culture of Ternopil/Ukraine in the Suwalki City Library, during these events master classes of the folk artists, presentation of art-books dedicated to the famous persons of Suwalki and Ternopil and other activities will be organized. The project also foresees the organization of the action “The book that changed my life” (to form a library stocks in Suwalki and Ternopil), creating websites in Ukrainian addressed to Ukrainians staying in Suwałki and tourists from Ukraine interested in visiting Suwałki
