We open border together
The idea of the project is to develop cross-border region cooperation and increase tourism between Poland and Belarus – we focus on Bialystok Functional Area (BFA – 10 communes) and Brest Oblast (BO), both belonging to the support area. For the effective opening of these regions, we need qualified people, a consistent methodology of action, long-lasting cooperation and promotion. According to the Programme, “the attractiveness of tourism and growth in the sector are strongly dependent on the diversity and quality of tourism services, the image of the region and the proper popularization of seasonal tourist activities” – this project is a response to such a thesis. General objective of the project is to improve the image and attractiveness of BFA and BO by promoting tourist products based on local culture and historical heritage of both regions. In consequence, it should bring measurable benefits, such as increasing tourist traffic between Poland and Belarus. Thanks to the increase of qualifications of tour operators, creation and promotion of new tourist attractions, the supply and demand for border tourism will increase. The main outputs of the project, i.e.: – 3 new tourist routes promoting national heritage of both countries and – 2 strategies of the development of cross-border tourism products will bring benefits to tourists, tourist movement institutions and involved cities. Up to now, all undertaken actions have been of single type and dispersed. The developed strategies will direct the activities and will be tools that help to achieve common cross-border goals.
