perspective
2014 - 2020

Within the scope of the investment task, the construction of a new and modernization of the existing technical infrastructure is planned, including: water supply networks, sanitary sewage system, rainwater drainage system, power supply, tele-technical networks, fire water network and a drainage system. The investment will organize and supplement the technical infrastructure in all port areas.

The main goal of the project is to support the economy that uses resources efficiently and environmentally friendly and is conducive to territorial and social cohesion. Ensuring efficient and high quality service of the increasing freight and passenger traffic in land-sea relations requires support for the development of technical infrastructure of ports in Szczecin and Świnoujście. Due to different periods of creation of individual elements of port infrastructure and new requirements for it, modernization becomes necessary. This will ensure optimization of energy consumption, improvement of the environmental situation and compliance with applicable regulations in this respect. By improving access to ports, the position of the port complex among the southern Baltic Sea ports will strengthen. Creating new conditions in the field of technical infrastructure will bring economic and social benefits for the immediate and further environment of the project.

The project also implements the strategic dimension that indirectly affects the implementation of the country’s transport policy, state development policy in terms of improving Poland’s competitiveness, sustainable transport system and increasing the share of maritime transport. The investments will reduce environmental pollution from ships by building infrastructure for receiving sanitary sewage from ships. As a result of the project, the improvement of maritime safety will increase through the investments in port infrastructure and the ones reducing pollution from ships.
