The erection of the Billy Wilder Cultural and Film Center
The Billy Wilder Cultural and Film Center is the newly built headquarters of the Suska Library and of the Municipal Cultural Centre. Now, both the institutions now have much more spacious rooms at their disposal, which will allow them to carry out their activities even better and more easily. Of particular note is the performance and cinema hall equipped with state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment. Film screenings, concerts and other cultural and entertainment events will be able to gather audiences of up to 300. The room has been fitted to the requirements of people with disabilities. In the new building there are also ticket offices, a buffet with amenities, a lobby with an open staircase, physical activity room and sanitary facilities. The lobby provides access to multifunctional multimedia-equipped libraries and reading rooms with the collection of books located on the upper floor. On the floors of the building there are also multifunctional workshop rooms designed as spaces for flexible arrangement (used, according to interests, for choir rehearsals, musical ensembles, thematic or other workshops, serving the purpose of local community activity) and administrative rooms. The ground floor of the building is a place for the back room of the multifunctional room’s stage and of the dressing room of the dance hall. Restrooms for users of the center and technical and service facilities have been are provided throughout the building. Under the building there is a garage for 40 passenger cars.
