perspective
2014 - 2020

The project includes the purchase of 130 articulated electric busses, which in compliance with the strategy of the Warsaw city authorities operates in the city center (Trakt Królewski). project includes also installing charging points for some of the bus lines.

Trakt Królewski is a representative area of the city, with many historic buildings, monuments, restaurants, universities – full of pedestrians at every time of day, with a good connection to subway. The city authorities goal is to prioritize public transport, pedestrians and bicycle riders and at the same time to minimize the number of private cars in the area.

The buses operating in this area are electric. The infrastructure for fast pantograph charging is located at the bus ends, which enables charging during the driver’s rest. There is no necessity to go to the depot (where low power chargers are located) to charge the bus during the operating hours, what allows optimal use of the rolling stock.

The main objectives of the project:

  • developing environmentally friendly transport modes,
  • increasing the competitiveness of public transport against individual transport, also by improving the quality of rolling stock and services,
  • expanding multimodal transport and supporting environmentally friendly solutions in public transport,
  • strengthening the metropolitan function of Warsaw by improving the image of the city, living conditions and increasing travel comfort especially in the city centre,
  • reducing the overall impact of the transport system on the environment,
  • reducing maintenance needs and associated costs for the rolling stock.
