Sound and noise are commonly present in everyday life. Eyes can be closed sometimes, but ears – never. The increasing volume of land and air traffic, more and more powerful machines and tools are just a few examples of the impact on noise levels in the environment. The KFB Acoustics company from Wrocław identifies sources of noise and uses modern solutions to prevent it. Currently, the acoustic assessment of the environment, concert hall, office, industrial hall or the interior of the car as well as equipment and machinery is mainly based on determining and comparing sound levels and determining frequency characteristics. Thanks to this, we are able to determine whether something is quieter, louder or whether the generated sound is of high or low frequency. However, in order to optimize the acoustic products, interiors, machines, it is necessary to „hear” what a given product sounds like, compare it directly with other products, or hear the difference between the situation before and after acoustic optimization. As part of the project, the company bought specialized measuring equipment and software and implemented the „acoustic design” service (recording, listening, acoustic design) and the „auralization” service (auralization of interior acoustics, auralization of sound transmission). To put it in a simpler way: thanks to the acoustic design service, it is possible to shape the sounds in such a way that they become pleasing to our ears. On the other hand, auralization allows sound to move to almost any room in the world, if only this room has been previously examined.
