perspective
2014 - 2020

The Princes Czartoryski Museum was opened on December 19, 2019, after a thorough renovation lasting from 2010. The new permanent exhibition presents the collection of the Princes Czartoryski. It is not only Leonardo da Vinci’s Lady with an Ermine or the Landscape with the Merciful Samaritan by Rembrandt van Rijn, but also works of the greatest Polish artists and a collection of national souvenirs.

The museum has undergone a thorough renovation. The exhibition space has been enlarged and a new arrangement and a new permanent exhibition has been designed. The opening of the museum was possible thanks to, among other things, design, investment, renovation, conservation, content, digitalization, educational and promotional work.

The rich offer of activities is addressed to groups of people of different ages and needs: children, adults, seniors, local community, as well as tourists. There are audio guides with paths in different languages. The Museum is fully adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. The sensory path containing copies of works of art and descriptions of objects in Braille is also important.

The renovation also results in an infrastructure conducive to social integration, including a place of learning and experimentation, a café and a museum shop. The roofed courtyard enables the organization of cultural events, and the educational hall – of workshops.

The project is co-financed by the European Union and the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
