Open National Museum. Digitization and sharing the collections of the National Museum in Warsaw
The aim of the project is to digitize the collections of the National Museum in Warsaw, increase the availability of digital resources in the newly created site, in high resolution that guarantees reuse. The main tasks of the project: creating a photographic studio and a new website containing both the functionality of the webcatalog as well as the educational portal. After the survey and in-depth interviews with representatives of business, education and culture, project target groups were identified: People actively participating in cultural events; students of primary schools, high schools; academic teachers, teachers, pedagogues, students of higher education institutions; representatives of the creative industry; people professionally involved in the subject of culture; tourists. Both school and pedagogical staff will be able to use the site to find interesting information, improve knowledge, search for materials for lessons, school presentations (eg educational cards). Thanks to professional descriptions students, scientists and also employees of cultural institutions will be able to benefit from the effects of the project. Business representatives in this creative industry will be able to use material for projects, including commercial ones. As a result of the project, 19,068 monuments will be digitized, which have not had digital photos so far. An estimated 75,000 digital files are estimated. The new website will contain 15 thematic paths enriched with 15 educational films translated into Polish Sign Language and 100 educational cards with the possibility of downloading.
