INCREASING ENERGY PRODUCTION FROM RENEWABLE SOURCES IN THE TOWN OF BRZEZINY
The main objective of the project is to increase the share of renewable energy sources in the energy balance of the Town of Brzeziny and to reduce the use of fossil energy sources, leading to the improvement in the condition of the natural environment by reducing the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere. The project will be implemented in the Town of Brzeziny. The target group is the inhabitants of the Town and the region. The material scope includes: Construction of infrastructure for the production of electricity and thermal energy from renewable energy sources solely for own needs, i.e. 149 photovoltaic micro-installations, 79 air-to-water heat pumps. For the purposes of the project, the documentation, i.e. the Functional Plan and the Feasibility Study were prepared. As part of the project, expenses for investor supervision, promotion and preparation of project documentation were planned. No threats to the project implementation are expected: ownership issues are settled, residents have signed lending agreements, the town has experienced staff and funds to cover its own contribution. The users of the project will be people using the designed installations – residents of the Town of Brzeziny. The indirect recipients of the project are all inhabitants of the Brzeziny Poviat (according to the data of the Central Statistical Office, as of 31 December 2016, Brzeziny Poviat has 30,912 inhabitants, the Town of Brzeziny – 12,514 inhabitants). The project has properly constructed assessment indicators and will have a significant impact on the region, the estimated annual decrease in greenhouse gas emissions (CI34) will amount to 1,232.67 Mg CO2 equivalent per year; the reduction of CO2 emissions will amount to 92.57%, PM10 – 100%, PM2.5 – 100% and benzo(a)pyrene – 100%. The project is comprehensive and ready for implementation. The applicant, as a local government unit, meets the eligibility criteria resulting from the ROP for the LV for the years 2014-2020. The project is technically feasible; technologies for the execution of works, the materials used will be generally available and known, and the technical solutions will be appropriate in terms of functionality and will comply with applicable legal standards.
