perspective
2014 - 2020

The implementation of this project through the modernization/construction of port infrastructure is necessary to maximize the effects that can be obtained as the result of deepening the fairway to 12.5m.

The scope of the project includes:

  • deepening and widening of the Dębicki Channel in order to obtain a basin with a technical depth of 12.5 m and a width of 200 m, including dredging works in the area of 26.9 ha,
  • reconstruction of the existing Słowackie Quay with the length of 565.8 m,
  • reconstruction of the existing Czeskie Quay with the length of 453.5 m,
  • construction of a new 300 m long Norweskie Quay (in the extension of the existing Fińskie quay),
  • shore lining (Duńskie Quay – Stage I) on the length of 779 m (in the extension of the planned Norweskie Quay),
  • reconstruction of the second section of the 91.99 m long Spółdzielcze Quay,
  • reconstruction of the existing, eastern spoil dump site on the island of Ostrów Grabowski (PR-1, PR-3, PR-4, OS-1),
  • reconstruction and construction of the necessary technical infrastructure of the quays,
  • construction of a 42.3 ha spoil dump site on Ostrów Mieleński

Achievement of the objectives of the Investment project will occur as a result of:

  • deepening and widening of the port basin (Dębicki Channel) to enable safe navigation of large seagoing vessels with draft up to 11.0 m,
  • modernization and deepening of selected quays in the general cargo handling area and adaptation of port infrastructure to handle larger than before grain and container ships,
  • construction of a new deep-water quay together with preparation of the necessary technical infrastructure for transhipment of containers,
  • construction along the unimproved shore of the port basin a shore reinforcement to prevent silting of the deepened basin, shore erosion and debris sliding into the basin of the Dębicki Channel.
  • The implementation of the above objectives also requires the construction of a new spoil dump site on Ostrów Mieleński and the reconstruction of the existing spoil dump sites on Ostrów Grabowski.
